KHB Women’s Health provides personalized care for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, hormone changes, midlife weight gain, and metabolic health. Care is designed to help you understand what is changing in your body and create a plan to help you feel like yourself again.
-
Perimenopause can begin years before your periods stop. Common symptoms include irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, poor sleep, brain fog, mood changes, fatigue, decreased libido, and changes in weight or body composition. Diagnosis is based on your symptoms, menstrual history, age, medical history, and clinical evaluation—not simply one hormone test.
-
Yes. Hormone therapy may include estradiol, progesterone, and, when appropriate, testosterone. Treatment is individualized based on your symptoms, health history, goals, and risk factors.
-
Yes. Midlife weight gain can be influenced by hormonal changes, loss of muscle mass, insulin resistance, sleep, stress, nutrition, and activity levels. My approach focuses on metabolic health, body composition, protein intake, strength training, and sustainable lifestyle changes rather than simply focusing on the number on the scale.
-
Yes, when clinically appropriate. Testosterone may be considered for certain women after a comprehensive evaluation. Treatment includes individualized dosing, monitoring, and a discussion of potential benefits and risks.
-
Laboratory testing may be recommended depending on your symptoms, medical history, and goals. Labs can help evaluate areas such as thyroid function, metabolic health, iron status, and selected hormone levels. Results are always considered alongside your symptoms and overall clinical picture.
